Description:

Depending on any situation, pilot may choose to divert to a nearby airport for any unexpected scenario.

Trigger:

Unforeseen event occurs during flight (e.g. medical, mechanical or meteorological event)

Main Success Scenario/Flow:

  1. Pilot communicates candidate airports and ATC for the diversion request.
  2. Diverted airport creates diverted flight in AODB.
  3. Airline sends diversion information to scheduled destination airport.
  4. Airline sends flight updates to both the scheduled and diverted airports.
  5. Both airports update diverted flight in their AODB.

Extensions:

AODB sends diverted flight record to Fixed Resource Allocation and downstream systems at both the scheduled and diverted airports.
