Introduction

This page is concerned with defining the data flows between AODB and Fixed Resource Management systems, in either direction. A "Fixed Resource" is defined as one which is always physically located in the same place, the following is a non-exhaustive list of such assets :

Resource	Notes
Terminal	Not at all airports. Likely to be fixed by the airline
Gate	Allocated per flight (the service which a passenger buys a ticket for). May be determined by the stand, but there may not be a 1:1 relationship with the stands
Stand	Allocated per aircraft
Reclaim carousel	The place where arrival passengers collect their bags
Make-up Carousel / Lateral	A belt which carries bags around until a handler is able to pick it up and load into a ULD
Security Lane	For departing passengers
Check-in Desk	May be allocated to specific flight(s), or for an airline or alliance for a period of time. May also be segregated by passenger class
Transfer Desk
De-Icing Pad	Used for aircraft at some airports
De-Icing Lane	Used for aircraft at some airports
Runway*	May be outside of the scope of the airport, depending on operational procedure
SID*	May be outside of the scope of the airport, depending on operational procedure

Note that the scope here does not include non-fixed resources such as luggage trolleys and taxis, nor does it include human resources such as security staff.

Title	Create flight resource allocation
Description	Allocate a fixed resource to a flight or an aircraft movement, for a defined period of time. The resource should then be visible in the flight record

Description	Allocate a fixed resource for a defined period of time. The resource is allocated to a piece of work which may be multiple flights (e.g. a check-in counter), one flight (e.g. a stand), zero flights (e.g. a gate outage), or unrelated to flights.

N.B. The updating, removal etc. of planning rules happens within the resource allocation tool does not involve data exchange so is not considered here.

The following are terms which require a link to an existing ACRIS definition, or for one to be created:

Would be useful to have a definition of "Piece of work" which allocations can be attached to- this may be multiple flights (e.g. the thing a checkin counter is allocated to), one flight (e.g. for a stand), zero flights (e.g. a gate outage), or unrelated to flights (e.g. bathroom cleaning)

Possible definition of terms such as "Provisional", "Pending", "Cancelled"?
